About Twitterment

Twitterment is a small, independent site about understanding the mood of conversations on X. The name joins "Twitter" and "sentiment".

The home page has a free sentiment checker. You paste posts or replies you have copied from X, one per line, and it sorts them into positive, neutral and negative, draws a chart, lists the words that drove the scores, and lets you export the results as a CSV file. The guides explain how sentiment scoring works, how to collect posts by hand, how to avoid misleading yourself with the results, and how small brands can use all of this without paying for an enterprise tool.

How the checker works

The checker uses a word list we wrote for this site, with weights for several hundred English words, short phrases and common emoji, and rules for negation ("not good"), intensifiers ("really good"), contrast ("but") and capitals. It flags lines that look sarcastic but doesn't try to reinterpret them. Every score shows the words behind it, so you can see why a line was labeled the way it was and disagree when it's wrong.

It runs entirely in your browser. It doesn't log in to X, doesn't call any API and doesn't send what you paste anywhere. Close the tab and the text is gone.

Word lists are a blunt tool. They miss sarcasm, context and new slang, and they only understand English. We say so on the tool itself, and the guide on what sentiment analysis is explains the trade-offs.

Who writes it

The site is written and maintained by the Twitterment Team, a small group of people who work with social media data and spend more time than they'd like reading reply threads. We don't sell followers, engagement or accounts, and we don't take payment to review or mention products.

Not affiliated with X

Twitterment is independent. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to X Corp. X and Twitter are trademarks of their owner, used here only to describe what the site is about.

History of the domain

Twitterment.com was relaunched in 2026 under new, independent management. The current site has no connection to earlier owners of the domain, and older pages from previous versions of the site are not part of it.

Corrections and suggestions

If a guide is wrong or out of date, or the checker scores something badly, please tell us. A clear example ("this line was scored positive and it's obviously a complaint") is the most useful kind of report. You can reach us through the contact page.
